"Do Not Flush" List
Flushing these items down your toilet or other drain can be harmful to your property's plumbing system, the City's sanitary sewers and the wastewater treatment plant!
- Cooking oil, fats, oil, grease, food scraps, ground food
- Coffee grounds
- Kitty/cat litter, pet wastes
- Baby wipes, disposable wipes, flush-able wipes, biodegradable wipes
- Diapers
- Latex gloves
- Paper towels, shop rags
- Cotton swabs
- Syringes
- Cigarettes, cigarette butts, cigarette filters
- Hair
- Q-tips, cotton swabs
- Feminine sanitary products
- Dental floss
- Dryer sheets
- Motor oil
- Trash, scraps, plastic bags
- Sand, grit, dirt
- Drugs, antibiotics, prescriptions (Take these items to the Police Department drop box.)
- Excessive household chemicals such as bleach, detergent, drain cleaners, ammonia
- Pesticides, lawn/garden fertilizers
- Swimming pool chemicals
